New Ale Launches to Celebrate Pontcysyllte 10th World Heritage Site Anniversary!

A local brewery in Wrexham has rebranded an award winning ale to commemorate the 10th anniversary since the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct & Canal was granted World Heritage Site status by UNESCO.

The Magic Dragon Brewing Company, based at the Plassey Holiday and Leisure park has rebranded 1,000 limited edition bottles if its award winning Eyton Gold Ale, following success at the Wales and West Regional Independent Beer Awards 2019.

Their Eyton Gold won Gold in the Bottle/Can British Bitters (up to 4.4% abv) section and now as part of the World Heritage Site 2019 celebrations, the golden ale has has a rebrand!

Speaking about the decision, head brewer Richard Lever said;

"We're really passionate about supporting tourism and the local food & drink scene here in Wrexham County, so when we met with Joe Bickerton from Wrexham Council's tourism team, he suggested rebranding the Eyton Gold to help celebrate this momentous year for the World Heritage Site. So far, we have over a dozen stockists across Wrexham County and down into Llangollen and we believe that the bottles will make great souvenirs for visitors to take away."

The Magic Dragon Brewing produces a range of cask ales for pubs and restaurants as well as their bottled beers which they sell on site and in local shops in the area. There has been a micro-brewery at the Plassey since 1985.
