Festive fun at William Aston Hall this December!

With the festive period soon upon us, William Aston Hall has a great lineup of events perfect for seasonal celebrations with friends and family or for any last-minute gifts!

Sweet (1 Dec) are back, and you’re not going to want to miss out as they go Full Circle!

Scoring 15 momentous top 40 hits in the Seventies, with eight going top-five, including classic 1973 UK No.1, Blockbuster – Sweet perfected the art of making memorable records in a highly competitive era. From the breakthrough hit Co-Co in 1970 to 1978’s Love is like Oxygen and all points between and beyond. There is also the instant nostalgia of unforgettable classics such as The Ballroom Blitz, Fox on the Run, Hellraiser, Little Willy, Teenage Rampage, Action and Wig-Wam Bam. All in all, we’re talking 53 years of hit singles, 55 million albums and 34 No.1s, from a band that’s stood the test of time. So don’t miss out.

Cabarela brings their festive cabaret to William Aston Hall (9 Dec). For those of you who’ve never seen them, it’s going to be a night of Welsh language cabaret in the company of; Sorela, Hywel Pitts and Divas a Diceds. Who knows what else they can find festering at the bottom of their stockings? This show is unsuitable for children, narrow-minded adults, and bah humbugs.

Join conductor Mark Lansom as he leads the Wrexham Symphony Orchestra in their Christmas concert (10 Dec). Their annual Christmas concert brings all the family together with readings, carols and the best festive music.

Delta Academy of Dance and Performing Arts perform their Christmas panto Pinocchio (13-17 Dec). This enchanting fairy-tale tells the story of how toymaker Geppetto creates a wooden puppet toy named Pinocchio and wishes on a star that he would one day become a real boy. A kind Blue Fairy appears and grants his wish thus making Pinocchio come alive!

Join criw Cyw on a magical journey to help a special friend. The popular Welsh language children's show Taith Nadolig Cyw (19-20 Dec) comes to Wrexham this December. Everyone is feeling the Christmas excitement as they look forward to Siôn Corn’s visit to the train station. But Siôn Corn is nowhere to be seen. Along with Ben Dant, Bledd from Dreigiau Cadi and you, the Cyw presenters have to find and help Siôn Corn. With the use of some Christmas magic of course!

Join Welsh of the West End (21 Dec) for an intimate night of festive music, featuring musical theatre favourites and Christmas classics. With over 18 million views, musical theatre super-group Welsh of the West End became an online viral sensation, entertaining audiences with their show-stopping versions of musical theatre classics. Having performed at iconic venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, London Palladium, Trafalgar Square and the Principality Stadium, they went on to wow audiences internationally by reaching the live semi-finals of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent. Featuring performers from shows such as Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera and Wicked, this exciting concert promises to be a night not to be missed tickets are selling fast, so be quick!

After almost 30 years since East 17’s Christmas chart-topper, Stay Another Day in 1994, the band’s original member, Terry Coldwell, is joined by Joe Livermore and, former Artful Dodger collaborator, Robbie Craig for a festive treat at William Aston Hall (23 Dec). The group has achieved eighteen top-20 singles, and four top-10 albums and was one of the UK's most popular boy bands during the early to mid-1990s.
